Default Outlook error message

Grrr!! My email is down at present, and I'm getting the "Enter Network Password" every 5 seconds.

While it's great that Outlook warns me of this, the box is prioritised over everything else and anything I type automatically gets typed into the password box.

It's making my PC unusable at present!!

What a stupid little user-unfriendly error - how on earth did Microsoft leave this one running?

I know exactly what you mean

When this happens (and it has been happening a lot with BT Internet recently) I usually shut down Outlook and then just open it up every 30 minutes or so - then shut it down again... It allows me to continue working

Click on the down arrow after Send/Recieve to get the menu and select the disable send/recieve from the send/recieve settings sub menu

MS Does seem to know best with these things though - I love the way a Windows update will shutdown all by itself even if an app is open when a normal shutdown would prompt the user to save. Fortunately I've only lost the occasional MySQL query when I've left it unsaved and gone to bed.

As Tony said, it's been happening a lot lately with BT-Yahoo; I've since stopped using my BT a/c to send/receive and am no longer having the problem.

I'm sure I read about a fix for it somewhere...
