This might not be exactly SEO question, but that might come into it.
I'm wondering what the thinking is on java or javascripts: like popups, banner rotaters, cool menus, other cute stuff using java and javascript code I know that IE will block it unless told not to, but maybe most people just get sick of that and turn it off. Are there compelling reasons not to use this code on a page?

JS is pretty normal for delivering advertising - the main issue is when making essential parts of your site Javascript driven, which can cause issues for search engines.

Hi,
It is very normal to use JavaScript for websites, form entry checking is a good example. It can run menus as well as advertising. It is easy to learn and easy to implement. The only slight downside is that IE is starting to give security warning over such scripts. I believe this is rather short sighted as most websites use JavaScripts. In the short term JavaScript is an easy way to give apparently advanced functionality to an otherwise flat website. Gary |

Windows mucks up everything, don't they? I asked this because when I use windows to check sites out it always has a fit about any dynamic content, requiring a response.
I've also seen versions that just plain don't show the material, which is more worrisome. Maybe windows users just get tired of it and disable it (if Redmond will let them)? And yeah, that's exactly what I want...functionality without hassles. Thanks for the responses guys.
