Default What would you do with a blog that had run its course?

Looking for suggestions.

Our old company blog has been an experiment and has served its purpose. It is no longer needed, as it is not doing what it needs to do, due to it being on a separate domain. www.realoasis.net It has no value as we do not want to sell the domain name.

Random thoughts to date
  • We are thinking about keeping the old blog going for non company stuff
  • 301 all the company related posts to the new blog and leave everything else as is
New blog
  • We are going to set up a new blog on the main domain www.realoasis.com
  • As a subdomain or within a directory on the site?
As ever your thoughts are appreciated.

Hi Brian

You probably already know but... new threads preview fine but when I posted it threw up a database error - no code clues I'm afraid.

Yep, sorry about that - a technical issue from moving to the new domain - will look to upgrade vbulletin this weekend, which should address the issue - hopefully!

As for your blog - every site with a search history has value - you could either keep it as an archive and leverage it for links (presuming on a different IP range to your other main sites) or else simply 301 it to the new domain.

2c.
