this is not a criticism, just wondering why the change in name, I have been a member of this forum for ..well, going to 4 years or so now (a dozy member given that I have only contributed 50 posts  ... can't help but notice that this is the 3rd time in about as many years you are changing the forum's name.... just thinking of all the efforts (marketing, new logo etc etc) you put into the first site, it was called business something, can quite remeber, it was re branded to Platinax and now Internet business. Would be interesting to know the reasons behind the frequent re-branding, perhaps I am missing a trick or two. Thanks |

It's okay, it's a good question - the forums were originally set up as business-talk.co.uk, but I really wanted to expand the concept to a directory and news section and blog.
business-talk.co.uk seemed a very weak domain for branding such a project, so I set up Platinax to embrace the concept. However, Platinax has never felt like it has worked as a name - it was always difficult to communicate the site offline, and online spelling errors were not infrequent. In short, the name was confusing for people. The move to internetbusiness.co.uk should mean better branding potential overall, and I can't see any name changes for the future. About the only possible future change I can imagine is a rebuild of the site from a Wordpress/vbulletin combo to a full social CMS via Drupal - same features, different platform. Not sure if will implement, but something I may consider in future to build a social element to the site.

Thanks very much for that explanation, I can see where you are coming from, you submitted platinax to one of my directories, Ozami back then, I will update the link to your new url next time I am doing editing work on Ozami.

It sounds like a settings issue, ie, the original Platinax theme as the default - will get that changed - thanks for the heads up.
