How about using a web host to store the files?....Plenty of room out there nowadays.

I use an 8GB flash drive as the main storage drive for all my important files. They are so small and light, it is no bother just to slip it into your pocket when travelling around. They do come in a range of different speeds however, so don't just get the cheapest one you can find, or you will spend too long waiting for file operations.

there is a long but fascinating article in the april 12 2008 copy of the economist called 'nomads at last' that i'm now reading. all about big picture/blue sky working and living in a connected age.
it's making me feel like renaissance (2) man!

I like the 8GB flash drive idea. Many people now use a USB stick to store large amounts of data too.

The problem with the flash drive idea is that it is very much dependant on:
A: You remembering to keep all the files you need on it and updated. B: You remembering to take it with you! Personally I would go with the VPN method - that way you are working on the same set of files all the time from whatever location you choose...

You might want to check out logmein dot com, which i think is very useful, it can connect your home pc to your office pc. I am currently using it which i need to work on some documents back in the office.
