Okay, I finally finished my presentation last night - my first time using Powerpoint and wasn't much of a problem, except for applying a custom template I was provided with.
Either way, here's a couple of images from both presentations:

I presume the 1st image is how you'd deal with spammers and virus writers

Well spotted on the internal linking - I'm actually going to be using that to demonstrate getting involved with linking into a niche for maximum coverage.
The internal link diagram, by the way, is for seobook.com.

No instant sales, but some powerful business cards.
![]() SES is extremely restrictive on the marketing that can be done to conference visitors - basically, limited to presence, last slide on presentation, and business card exchange. Got quite some attention from this, though, and just been signed up for a high end marketing program as a trainer on SEO, which could prove interesting.

I personally wouldn't use SEO conferences to try and pick up new business. If someone is paying over £1,000 to attend the conference, it's quite clear that they have the commitment to do the SEO themselves. No-one is going to pay over £1,000 for a nice day out in London to find an SEO.

Glad to hear that it went well.
Any plans to have your discussion put on the web word for word? Would you say that the event is worth £1000 in terms of knowledge gained by participants on the day? ... or information that they may leave with. |

I think if you consider it a business consultancy, from industry pros, and then consider how much that would cost - I think when viewed relative in those terms, definitely worth considering. While the talks are to a general audience, there's nothing to stop you chatting to the speakers after a session, in the networking area, or the bar in the Hilton hotel.
