Default Inflation is at 2.1% - Does it feel like it?

We are being told that the latest figures for inflation, which were for October, showed that prices overall had risen by just 2.1% over the previous twelve months.

Does anyone really believe this?

Joe

Well the cost of borrowing and fuel have surely exceeded this figure.

Plus food costs.

Shopping for basic foodstuffs, they certainly feel more expensive.

I put a post in earlier I think saying that we should put together some serious research on the subject. All it means is keeping a few receipts for the next month and then comparing the same items a year later.

I must admit I am about to buy a TV this weekend and the cost of flat screens and general electronics have fallen dramatically. One purchase like this can offset the 20p increase in milk very quickly. Having said that the cost of nursery fees have gone up alot but then not many people actually pay these.
