I just bought an iMac:
http://www.ibrian.co.uk/06-12-2007/i...ought-an-imac/ As mentioned there, key reasons for moving *away* from Windows are: 1. Vista offers me nothing 2. Windows PC's are too at risk for security 3. Apple's production apps draw me in I'd already decided my next PC would be either an Apple or a Linux, probably running uBuntu, to get away from Windows. Looks like I'm committed now.

Nice, I had (actually still got under my desk somewhere) an old Mac (68K based MacOS 7.x), have been tempted with one of those little mini-Mac's as it could plug into the spare port on my KVM. Perhaps a prezzie for next year?
I've found Vista quite good, however the 64bit version on my PC does seem more stable than the 32bit version on the wife's and the only compatibility issue we've had was Quicken & Quickbooks, but quicken has been dumped in the UK and I'd never actually got my head round quickbooks.
