I have had very good experiences with music at emusic.com
You get actual mp3's playable on anything with non of the non-sharing claptrap. Ten bucks a month for like 30 downloads. Packages available that bring costs down to under around 20 cents per. By the way, if you like instrumental guitar, classical piano, and/or jazz, there are sites to legally download from the artists for free. I can't listen to lyrics when I'm writing, so I stocked up on piano and guitar music awhile back. There is really some incredible guitar music available out there of the classic/jazz/newage/whatever genre.
