Default still missing post

any idea how long its going to take to clear the back log of post, i'm trying to think of how they handle the increased amount of post at christmas and they usually seem to deal with it quite efficiently, why is it taking so long now, i know i'm missing post that should have arrived, but my biggest problem is my customers, all through the postal strikes they didnt stop ordering stuff now the stuff still hasnt arrived and there beginning to get annoyed which is fair enough. Also i've noticed stuff which was posted at the beginning of the strike is taking longer than stuff sent recently i can only assume its been piled up somewhere and the postal workers are working there way to it, although they do say theyre working through it in the order it was received, just doesnt seem to be the case

At Christmas, they build up the casual staff gradually as the load increases, however what we've got at the moment is a sudden build up and no sorting office manager in his right mind is going to bring in casuals until an agreement has been signed & sealed

I wouldn't expect it to get better any time this week - 50% of staff are on Strike - use a private currior - it may cost but its far superior.

Kind Regards

not an option for me i'm afraid, the cheapest charge about £10 a package, royal mail charge me between £0.90 and £3 for my orders, when you start sending larger stuff its worth while but for the vast majority i'm stuck with royal mail

Hmm, that be a shame!

I know what you mean - TNT charge £12.00 just to send a DVD size parcel *Waves Fist*

We are lucky, post still coming in and out.

Funnily enough, I got sent two items on Thursday last week as the strike ended - a plug by Royal Mail, and a backup drive by courier.

The plug arrived next day - the drive went missing and a claim went out on the courier.

you ever use parcel force, i once took a large package down to my post office to see how much it would cost to send via parcel force, they said £47, brought it home went on the internet booked the same service plus a pick-up from my house and tracking for £10.99 and its still parcel force who pick up and deliver, i was shocked, and for that £10.99 the package can be up to 150cm tall and weigh 30kg and it covers the cost of the middle man who you book through. if they can offer such a service why oh why dont they offer anything near that in the post office, crazy
