Isn't that kind've.. well, sucky? I mean fair enough if you're a regular reader or something and want to comment, but I dunno.. the idea of deliberately aiming to leave your links over these places seems a bit close to spamming for my tastes

I would agree if the comments contain a few words like "I agree" however if the comments are genuine and add value to the blog are they "spam"?

Tools available include Google Search, Yahoo Search for keyword searches to locate suitable blogs. Also Technorati and Google Blog Search.
To be honest, though, the problem with blog commenting is that it's difficult to get any kind of keywords into a link without it appearing spammy, and therefore being rejected. Personally, I wouldn't consider it a major source of links for clients, though it can be a good way to connect people with a blog you may run about the subject. 2c.

Yes Bumfluff, I never check if a page uses the no follow attribute, if my comments are considered valuable it can increase traffic to my website.
