This is not a Which one is better.
I just want to know what everyone has.
Also it would be nice to say what version you have too.

I own 1 Mac OSX iMac G3 (slow and sturdy)

I also have a few PCs(XP and (98). I play most games on them because I had most of my games before

my mac.

I have owned many Dell laptops, however they are too bulky, run very hot and are prone to faults. This added to their horrific customers services relations means I will be moving away from Dell very soon.

I do not mind paying extra for good quality products so would an apple be a better option?

I use both... have for years now.

Mac PowerBook G4

PC Windows XP

Both are doing the jobs I need so that is all I care about at the moment!

Am sorely tempted to get a Mac very soon, and use Boot Camp for Windows use with existing applications/software.

Thinking of Mac partly for security, partly because I want to move into music/video editing for which the Mac is well primed for - and also because my Advent Windows PC is noisy as hell if it has to handle graphics!

I personally only use PCs, though the next time I buy one, I am considering a Mac so I don't have to use Windows Vista.

That aside, a Mac lets you have the best of both worlds - Windows and Mac Os on the same machine. For me it would allow me to use some of the Windows only software I use as well as having the security of Mac Os. My only concern would be with the upgradability of the Mac system - from what I understand, they are not very upgradeable.

Hmmm, just posted something like this in another forum, so I will repeat and enlarge:

This is where I look greedy but I test a lot of sites/frameworks on different OS/setups so bear with me. I have:

Office:
Server: running Ubuntu 6.10 with SVK repository.
Built by my SysAdmin, Intel Core Duo extreme 6800, 4gb Ram, 1.2 TB of Hard Disk - software raid, on-board graphics (who needs them for a server)

Desktop: running Ubuntu 7.04 with SVK Client
2.4ghz AMD, 1gb Ram, 256mb ATI radeon

Mac Mini: running Mac 10.3
1.8ghz, 256mb ram

Desktop: running Windows XP Pro (of course)
2.8ghz AMD, 1gb Ram, 256mb ATI radeon

Home:
Desktop: Dual Monitor powerhorse (silly specs) running Windows XP and Virtual Server with SUSE 10 Enterprise and Ubuntu 6.10 (may also be installing Fedora yet)
8gb RAM, Intel Core Duo Extreme 3.8ghz, 500gb hard drive, Quatro FX850 Graphics Card, Dual 21-inch Dell monitors

Laptop: Apple Macbook running 10.4 Tiger with parallels 3.0 installed, currently running Ubuntu 7.04 (with an SVK client) but may also install install Windows XP.
2.0ghz, 120gb hard drive, 1gb RAM

I will be getting another machine, probably an iMac running 10.5 Leopard when it is released, that will have Parallels installed and no-doubt have the next Ubuntu (should be 7.11) under it and maybe a version of Vista

MAC vs PC (I assume you mean Windows) I prefer Mac's OS but windows is an all around slut (sleeps with anything) and very well supported by many manufacturers. I would go for Mac these days as if you install Parallels (Boot Camp has its advantages but hate dual booting a machine, too slow to switch) you can run other OS as Virtual on your drive. The integration in Parallels 3.0 means that you can run Windows programs on the Mac desktop, you can even choose to have the Windows taskbar appear on the desktop at the same time as the Mac dock I don't know any other OS that lets you do that (Virtual server runs in a window). P.S. You can run Windows quite happily in Virtual Server in Linux and I know many developers that do. Also you can use Wine to run Windows programs in Linux.
