I use ZoneAlarm Suite I've been using ZoneAlarm for 3-4 years. AVG are good as well as BitDefender. Norton is ok if you have a high spec PC as it is quite resource hungry.

isnt ZoneAlarm a firewall that pops up every five minutes to say something that doesnt really matter lol and come on Adam you being a computertech must know that Norton is absolute trash is bloatware thats why a high spec pc is needed and as far as stastistics go more pc that get infected with viruses ect are using Norton products,
I always suggest a good router with a hardware firewall and a small footprint antivrus like Nod or AVG, The Telemarketer Last edited by TheTelemarketer; 23-11-2007 at 07:41 PM. |

Gotta admit, I can't stand Norton either. First off, there's the resource hogging, then theres the way it never uninstalls cleanly, finally theres the act that it STILL misses stuff picked up by other vendors. The only reason it's so popular is because of the deals which bundle the damn package with new PCs or other software.

I've had customer PC's with Norton on and fully paid up correctly auto-updating and still had to clean them for viruses. The biggest problem I have with Norton is the painful OEM installs that just will not uninstall without having to manually remove things.
We resell AVG products and so far have never had a PC back once it's been cleaned and had AVG installed. Discount AVG licenses can be arranged - drop me a PM

Re my last post about Norton, AVG, etc.
I was providing an unbiased view of 3 products. I got in trouble for naming and shaming a company. Be careful!

I'm not stating anything you won't already find published elsewhere about Norton. Given that they had instructions on their site for assistance with failed uninstalls (well that's how I got rid of it on my Tosh laptop the other year), then I don't think I'm out of turn mentioning it. Whether it's Norton or the OEM's doing the install that cause the problem I don't know, my task was to get the PC to working operation with AVG and no viruses, not to diagnose Norton issues.
McAfee's uninstall seems to work on everything I've tried so far.

Given that this is a small business forum, then I'd question your use of AVG Free edition as it is only licensed for free use for home use, any non-home use requires a full product. I suggest you re-read the license agreement you probably just ticked the I agree box to when installing
