I run a direct marketing company that undertakes quite a bit of tele sales/marketing and I have also trained sales staff, and know that some sales people are a breed of there own!!!

I know that there are many companies out there that offer a free trial period for their products or services and in that respect they (the salesman) may argue that they're not trying to sell you anything!!!! However what they are trying to do is make you dependant upon what is being offered.

Most sales personnel know that people only tend to buy from people they trust and if you can make a salesman realise that you know he/she has lied they will give up a lot easier (just a tip)!!!

The best sales people will look to establish a need and offer a solution which is something that we are proud of doing.

We tend to find that 80% of the cold calls that we get are from the likes of students/college leavers that have no training in place to be able to hold a good business conversation??????
