It is said that out of a portion of our income, we should have the habit of donating some to the most needy people.

The more you donate like this, your income will start increasing by the grace of God.

So you donate to the needy and you get more rich because of this and become wealthy.

Do you believe in this theory?

no, the belief is altogether wrong. In one sense helping the poor is no doubt good. But we cannot go on this way. How many people can you save from their ill conditions? Better let us think why they are needy. They are needy because of the social iniquity. Until and unless we can fight out this issue, we cannot do anything for once and for all. That is why I am of the opinion that in other sense, helping the needy this way is socially harmful.

God will bless us for giving to the needy but we are supposed to give because of love not to get more. God said that he will take care of our needs. The problem is that his idea of our needs and our idea of our needs can be two different things. I always give the the food banks in my area.

A very interesting discussion this one. It depends whether you think it is a believe or a christ oriented thing. However giving because you want to be wealthy is out of question especially if you think its God who is gonna bring the riches
