Don't be discouraged guys! Apart from knowing the terminology you have to know how to go about it. If you need to learn on how to optimise your site, articles from Brad Callen is very useful. He puts up several different pieces of courses for you to go through step by step and its very useful and easy to understand. PM me for 1-10 lessons by him (because I already deleted his e-mails and forget what's his website ;p). He usually send 1 e-mail per week. So you won't get information overload.

Yep, SEO is short for Search Engine Optimization as mentioned above. It is used by many website owners so that they can get their sites ranked higher in the major search engines like Yahoo, Google and MSN. The more and better your optimize your site for the search engines, the higher you will rank resulting in more traffic to your sites from the search engines.
