To be a web host, you really need to understand your stuff so you can provide support to your customers.

There are kiddies that will buy a cheap reseller package and sell cheap with little or no support and then the business folds when the 1st unexpected problem comes along or there are the others who work hard and understand the business.

Either way, you'll not get rich on web hosting alone, there are profits to be made in hosting and related services, but not easy.

Research, research and more research is what you need.
